Dr. Marco Valero is a Director of Technology at Cox Communications, where he leads the Access Strategy and Planning teams. Prior to this role, he led the software development and automation efforts for Cox’s Core and Metro networks. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia State University, Dr. Valero has built a career at the intersection of large-scale network systems, automation, intelligent monitoring, and planning.
He holds patents in Internet routing and traffic control, as well as real-time time series data compression. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in top-tier IEEE and ACM venues. His work spans systems development, network automation, traffic engineering, and smart device interactions. He focuses on driving innovation and operational excellence across complex technical ecosystems.
