Priya Shrinivasan is Director, Technology Policy at CableLabs. She advises on policy, strategies, and priorities related to cybersecurity, privacy, artificial intelligence, spectrum, wireless convergence, and emerging technologies. Prior to joining CableLabs in 2022, Priya was immersed in technology and telecommunications policy and law throughout her 28+ year tenure in federal (at the US Federal Communications Commission) and city (New York City) government, where she served in a variety of roles and several senior leadership positions. She has worked in two NYC Mayoral administrations, in roles including Director, Policy & Legal and Agency Privacy Officer at NYC’s Office of Technology & Innovation, and Assistant Commissioner for Telecommunications Planning & Resiliency. While at the FCC, she worked in multiple FCC bureaus and offices, in roles including Associate Bureau Chief, Public Safety & Homeland Security Bureau, Assistant Bureau Chief, Enforcement Bureau, as well as in various roles in the Media and (former) Cable Service Bureaus, and the Office of Engineering & Technology. Priya has a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law, and an electrical engineering degree (with a minor in creative writing) from Carnegie Mellon University. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).
