Bin Haga is Chairman of the Board, Representative Director at JCOM Co., Ltd., having stepped into the position on June 2022.
JCOM is Japan’s largest multiple system and multiple channel operator. Since its establishment in 1995, J:COM has expanded its services as a community-based broadcasting and network operator, ranging from cable television to Internet to landline and mobile phones to others.
Prior to joining JCOM, Haga was Managing Executive Officer, General Manager, Digital Business Division at Sumitomo Corp. He led key management agendas such as digital strategy development and digital transformation (DX) at core businesses. For instance, he promoted value creation strategies with digital technologies towards Sumitomo’s global 400 subsidiaries in a wide range of industry fields.
From 2014 through 2018, Haga was stationed in the UK, as CEO of Sumitomo Corporation Europe. He served as CEO of Summit Motors Investment (U.K.) Ltd. (London), an automotive dealer group representing Aston Martin, Jaguar and Honda, from 2004 through 2009. In Australia, he was Executive Director of Summit Investment Australia, PTY. Ltd. (Sydney), an automotive dealer group representing Ford, Mitsubishi and GM from 1997 through 2004, which brought many rich colors to business experience and life. He graduated from Ranum High School, Denver CO in 1981 through an exchange student program called YFU.
Haga currently joins as a member of the management team of Japan Cable and
Telecommunications Association (JCTA), contributing to cope with the issues common to cable television industries and to promote sound development and popularization of cable television.
