Phil McKinney

Phil McKinney is President and CEO of CableLabs, the non-profit research & development and innovation lab funded by the global cable industry. McKinney leads the development of technologies and specifications for the delivery of high-speed data, video, voice and next-generation cable broadband services. He oversees testing, certification facilities and guides the technical leadership for the industry, charting the course for future technology and innovation. Phil joined CableLabs after retiring in December 2011 as CTO at Hewlett-Packard Company. Since 2005, he has shared his expertise in innovation and creativity, in an approach he refers to as “paying it forward,” through his award-winning podcast, Killer Innovations™.
