Rick Suarez is Group President of MasTec Communications Group, a global telecom leader. He oversees financial health, growth, and long-term strategy. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Florida Atlantic University) and both an MBA and M.S. in Industrial Engineering (University of Miami).
Rick began his telecom career in 1988 with Southern Bell, rising through engineering, construction, and management roles. He later led global technical call centers and served as AT&T Southeast’s VP of Construction and Engineering, overseeing major network deployments.
An immigrant who worked trades from age 13 to fund his education, Rick’s journey grounds his people-focused leadership. Since joining MasTec in 2011 to launch its wireless division, he has grown the business into a multibillion-dollar global provider, guided by trust, respect, and opportunity for his teams.
