Spectrum Part A: Old and New Spectrum Paradigms – A View from Policymakers

  • This two-part session will explore the opportunities and challenges facing policymakers in supporting the continuing growth of commercial wireless services while also balancing the long-term needs of government spectrum users.
  • First, Robin Colwell, Deputy Director of the National Economic Council at the White House, will share the Administration’s spectrum policy priorities and the importance of a balanced approach to spectrum allocation in strengthening the U.S. economy and fostering innovation.
  • Her remarks will explore how policymakers assess and weigh competing demands for spectrum, and how emerging service models—such as shared spectrum and unlicensed use—can support the continued growth of commercial wireless services.
