Brian’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, and an MBA in Technology Strategy from the University of Colorado.
Brian brings thirty years of technology experience and leadership roles (CTO, CIO, CISO, Chief Architect, Chief Scientist) at companies including Nortel, Lockheed Martin, ICAT, FedEx, Open Scan, Sun Microsystems, CableLabs and others. Brian’s portfolio includes new products, operational support, and life-altering technologies highlighted by 28 patents and highly referenced, award-winning, peer-reviewed papers in areas encompassing cybersecurity, blockchain, bridging the digital divide, network defense, digital privacy and more.
Brian brings cybersecurity policy, procedures, and technical expertise to his Board of Directors experience, including current roles on the Messaging Malware Mobile Anti-Abuse Working Group (M3AAWG), Communications Sector Coordinating Council (CSCC) and volunteer support for the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB). Prior board roles include Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), serving as an officer on the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF) board and President of the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF).
