Dan Newman is the Chief Technology Officer of the Content Delivery Platform at Viasat, Inc. where he oversees the overall technology roadmap and leading engagements with content providers and content delivery networks (CDNs). Previously, Dan served as Senior Director Content Delivery Technology for Viasat’s Global Networks and Technology business unit.
Throughout his tenure, he has held multiple leadership positions supporting global traffic management, TCP and HTTP acceleration technology, and PHY and MAC layer software in Viasat’s commercial satellite modems. Dan holds multiple patents in the area of content delivery optimization in satellite networks.
Dan is co-chair of the Edge Storage Working Group of the Streaming Video Technical Alliance, where he helps advance open industry solutions to key problems in content delivery over wireless networks.
Dan holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
