David White is Vice President of Security Solutions Engineering at Comcast Corporation. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the full range of cybersecurity engineering functions including endpoint and network security, security data science and analytics, data loss prevention, VPN, DDoS protection for Comcast and Comcast Business customers, and operations of the security products.
David joined Comcast after a 26-year career at Sandia National Laboratories. While at Sandia David served in a variety of positions including Chief Information Security Officer, Director for Cyber R&D, and Deputy Associate Lab Director for National Security Programs. David served as a Cyber Board member of Zion’s Bank.
David received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering from Brigham Young University, and his Ph.D. in Engineering with an emphasis on Computational Geometry and Computational Mechanics from Carnegie Mellon University. In 2013, David was named a National Security Fellow by Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where he conducted research on defending the U.S. electric grid from cyberattack.
